Three Travelers--Three Mountains

On Tuesday I accompanied Brooke and Max in a wide arc around the Old City of Jerusalem with Mount Scopus, the Mount of Olives and Mount Zion as our chief destinations. At these locations we visited at least a ten major holy sites, including the Russian Church of the Ascension, the Mosque of the Ascension, the Church of the Paternoster, the Dominus Flevit Chapel, the Russian Church of St. Mary Magdalene, the private Garden of Gethsemane, the Tomb of the Virgin, the Church of the Dormition, the Hall of the Last Supper and King David’s Tomb. Needless to say, that makes for an amazingly full day! The three travelers left the apartment at about 8:30 in the morning, returning somewhat wearily about 2:30 in the afternoon.
